On 26 February, Formula E driver Jérôme D’Ambrosio took part in the smartCEM final event in Barcelona that highlighted the work done to improve user uptake for electro mobility.

After the opening by Àngel López ElectroMobility Program Manager from Barcelona City Council, Fernando Zubillaga, smartCEM project coordinator briefly presented the project.

In the first roundtable smartCEM pilot site leaders: Txomin Rodríguez Villa (Gipuzkoa/San Sebastian), Josep Laborda (Barcelona), Simon Edwards (Newcastle) and Leandro Guidotti (Reggio Emilia) discussed if the piloted smartCEM ICT services increase user acceptance of EVs.  Carlos López Ruiz, ICT4EVEU project coordinator also joined the debate on the new forms of mobility and future consumers’ expectations.

Afterwards participants were able to ask questions, which they did with big interest, to the special guest, FIA Formula E driver and ambassador for electromobility, Jérôme D'Ambrosio.

The second roundtable focused on costs, benefits and barriers for electro mobility and ICT services with Axel Burkert (PTV GROUP), Simon Hayes (Barcelona Municipality), Eduardo Gonzalez (DBUS), Nerea Rojas (MLC ITS Euskadi), Guillermo Ricarte (Creafutur) and Mauricio Ríos (IBIL).
